This is a spoiler. Don't read it! Don't read it. We have a Wiki page that includes links for various useful tools and resources, most of which have been provided by the members of this community.

Some of these tools and resources include the following:. Harrower Build Advice? Hey, for one of my character's I was really interested in going the harrower route due to my love of tarot cards but I can't quite figure out a good way to make a starting character in preparation for that class. Currently I'm considering a celestial bloodline sorceror but when looking at the guides for sorcerer they all say to just go arcane. Look, the guides do one thing, they help you figure out the most bang for your buck options, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download.

They don't necessarily lend themselves to helping you get the flavour of a character concept exactly right. They're good for some suggestions, but that's really about it.

Play what you want to play. That said, let's talk character concept! Right, you want to be a Harrow Card Reader, basically a fortune teller.

I do think a casting class is a good choice for this, especially one that builds off of charisma. That said, I think there are some options you might not have considered that I want to lay out for you.

Not that I think any is better than the other, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download, but that they could all work for you. First, sorcerer. Aaaaw yeah. They're great, and I think the could work. Although rather than Celestial, which is cool! All of those bloodlines have to do with the future or dreams or some strange creepy background that still afflicts you.

All twigging into that fortune teller vibe. Not into arcane, want divine? Why not Oracle!? With the Oracle curse and the Mystery and Revelation mechanics, you're truly touched by something larger than yourself in a spiritual, mind bendy way. The mysteries you choose from are a lot like sorcerer blood pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download and you can have some good ones.

Then, lastly, there's playing a bard. Okay, first, bards. They're fun, versatile, a jack of all trades, everyone's friend. This would be maybe a Harrower who is really a con man. Or maybe they're totally legit, but know all too well that people don't always like being told what will happen so they sprinkle in a few nice things to keep from getting throttled. The bard spell list and special abilities with illusion and enchantment are especially fun here.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on how to make a Harrow Card Reader. I hope that helps. Good luck! I second the bard idea, but throw in deadly dealer. First off, here is a link to some free downloads - a rule book and blank harrow cards.

Just scroll down a little and you won't have to pay for anything. Alternatively, you can buy your own deck if you're really invested in this character idea. Finally, they've just released a new Pathfinder Companion based around Harrow stuff - if you're going to pay for anything I'd pick this up.

That said, let's get down to actual character stuff. A Harrower prestigae class - this seems purpose built for your needs If you're going down this route then I'd advise choosing a full-casting class pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download doesn't lose too much when you multi-class. As such, a wizard would be perfect for this though some schools are more level dependant than others. A witch might be ok and it certainly fits the theme, though you will be very limited on hexes and your debuffs will be weak, so focus on buffing and utility for hexes instead.

A cleric can also work, though select your domains as carefully as the wizard chooses his school so that it isn't level dependant.

Pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download oracles and sorcerers, particularly sorcs, will lose a lot taking this prestige class so I'd advise against choosing these. Even if you're not interested in taking the prestige class, it's still worth looking at that page as you can get further information on Harrow reading, fortune telling and so forth. Finally, there are a fair few feats, traits and spells that might be relevant. Just a quick search on d0pfsrd brings up a list with a number of options.

If I personally were to create this class, I think I'd go for a Divination School wizard, probably with the Foresight variant school. I might even go for the Sylph Wind Listener archetype as spontaneous divination is fantastic - it means you only need to prepare a divination spell if Divination is your school and even then, only the one. Plus, Sylph's make for good Wizards.

Without the Prestige Class I'd go for a witch that specialised in cursing her enemies with bad luck and wishing good luck on my allies. I haven't read the Harrow Handbook but I'd definitely pick it pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download as I suspect there will be a lot of extra options to choose from. I particularly like the magus that can throw cards to perform touch attack spells which is very iconic and just downright cool, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download.

The witch archetype can do something similar only it is less of a martial ability and more about delivering touch spells safely. The Summoner archetype is also interesting and, when combined with the 'Harrowed Summoning' feat, very strong.

Plus you get a ton of flavour too so I would definitely advise picking it up! It actually specifies ranged attack spells Could be a misprint or I could be mistaken in the interpretation, but I choose to believe you can throw fireballs Pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download Thanks for the advice!

I didn't even know about the foresight variant until you brought it up. I think that's what I might go for in terms of class. I was on the fence to buy the companion but it seems the reviews for it are really good so I might snag it. Pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download really do think it's worth it if you're planning to use Harrow in your game - in fact I might have to make a Harrow character myself when I next get a chance! If it helps, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download, don't worry too much about guides.

They are worth reading as they make you think about the different elements of your pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download and how to make the most of them, but caster classes are strong enough that they don't need to optimise to be useful. I've got a wizard that focuses on summoning, doesn't use enchantment, evocation, illusion or necromancy and he doesn't summon evil creatures ever I didn't design him like that but that's just the way he ended up developing, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download.

He's survived from level 1 to level 13 and he definitely does his fair share of work in the party. Pick whatever you think looks fun and flavorful, be prepared to be weak for the first few levels and then from 5th on you'll be an essential part of the adventure and your fellow party members will love you - well, as long as you try not to over-shadow them too much, pathfinder harrow handbook pdf download. Go out and buy the Deluxe Harrowed Deck! Do it right now! I just got one and it's awesome!

There's nothing better than actually having the cards as props! I've been thinking about using actual Tarot cards in my home brewed campaign, nice to know others are just as interested as I am! Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. All rights reserved.
